Moisturize or lightly mist your hair once a day to keep your curls fresh and hydrated and follow up by sealing your hair with a product to prevent friction between the strands. Shrunken hair styles are Knot Central. Try stretching out your hair as much as possible with twists, braids, and fluffed out variations of these styles. At night, protect your hair by plaiting or twisting it to lengthen the curls and coils. Cover the hair with a satin scarf/use a satin pillow case to reduce friction between your hair and bedding. Detangle your hair using your fingers. Work in small sections, start detangling the hair at the ends and work towards the scalp.

When the ends drop off excessively length cannot be achieved. Moisturize and seal your ends to preserve them.Handle your hair with care when shampooing, conditioning and styling.Wear protective hair styles. The less you handle your hair, the longer it will grow.Be patient!

Go on a moisture seeking mission: Black hair should be moisturizing every day with a water based moisturizer – no exceptions! Be sure you are replacing lost oils lipids by following washing sessions with a good conditioner. Cut out heat and opt for a safer form of drying: hooded dryer, even better air drying. Eat healthy. Poor diet choices can lead to dry brittle hair.
